Carry out the research, submit
the results and reap the rewards!

The 'health matters School
Awards' offer schools the opportunity
to win a 500 Euros cash prize for
their Science Department, together
with prizes for individual students.
Students are asked to submit a research
project into any health related subject
ranging from diet and disease prevention
through to health and fitness.
Linked to the 'health matters'
Gallery at the Science Museum, of
which GlaxoSmithKline is a principal
sponsor, the 'health matters
School Awards' are designed to introduce
students to the importance of modern
health issues in today's society,
and to stimulate team activity among
11-17 year old science students.
Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, one
of the world's leading healthcare
companies, and run by The Association
for Science Education, the Awards
encourage students to design, research
and implement their own scientific
investigation on any health-oriented
subject.

The Awards are open to all secondary
school students across Europe, and
are designed to cover a wide range
of abilities.
There are two main age categories.
Entries are invited from teams of
students aged 11-14 or 14-17 in 2002.
Each team must comprise five or more
students.
