These are just a few of the ongoing events around the UK that link well with Can we; should we? The science centre details included here do not cover all the exhibits that each centre can offer. Cheshire

The Museum of the Chemical Industry, 'Scientrific' has over 30 hands-on interactive exhibits. June 11th-14th, 2002 is KS2 Environment Week, and KS3 Recycling Workshops are on-going. The 'Crazy Changes' theme week June 25th-28th, 2002 is an explosive demonstration of weird and wonderful experiments, which explain changing materials by heating, cooling, burning and mixing.

Bristol

Exhibits include the 'Wildwalk' gallery, a journey from the origins of life to the ends of the Earth. Workshops for KS3 include 'Amazing Adaptations'. KS4 activities include 'DNA' and 'Urban Regeneration' for sustainable development. Facilities at the centre include an Imax theatre.

Glasgow

On the third floor gallery pupils are challenged to explore their world and consider the decisions they may have to make in the future, including 'Environment Zone', 'Science in the News' and an issues voting wall for them to leave their own opinions. Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Amongst the interactive exhibits of 'Lifelab' visit 'Choices?' to consider ethical issues in biotechnology. 'Secrets of Life' is a visitor show covering genetics, DNA and inheritance, and for KS2 pupils there is a 'Discovering DNA' workshop.

The wide range of exhibits includes the special 'Predators' exhibit, 'Growing Up' and 'A Closer Look at Plant Growth'. Pupils are actively encouraged to examine specimens at 'Investigate', a purpose built, state of the art laboratory setting.

Manchester

Among the many exhibits there is now a unique opportunity to visit the interactive 'Science for Life' exhibition in Manchester. This includes a giant walk through cell, life size movable nickel-plated skeleton, models of the human body and exhibits relating to biomedical research.

In addition to many hands-on exhibits, Inspire hosts a programme of live 'Science Squad' experiment science shows including 'E=Amazing Stuff 2' (age 7-13, looking at energy and energy conversions) and 'Animal Magic' (age 6-12, adaptation and classification).

Beginning April 2002 the 'Our Changing Countryside' theme will look at agriculture, nature and conservation, including interactive exhibits and continuing workshops such as 'Changing Materials'.

Now the home of Science Year for Wales, Techniquest houses many hands-on exhibits, together with interactive shows including 'Material World', a look at the science of hi-tech, state-of-the-art materials for KS3 and 'Music Technology' for KS4.
