School to celebrate their grant award.
"Writhlington Students Win
Science Year Grant for link with Kew.
This year is Science Year and students
at Writhlington have won a prestigious
British Association/Association of
Science Education Science Year Grant
of £750 for work linked to the
Royal Botanical Gardens Kew.
Students will be working on projects
to raise native orchid species from
seed using micorrhizal fungi isolated
at Kew, and learning techniques from
the scientists at Kew, who are world
leaders in the field of lab based
conservation.
Kew have also donated laboratory
equipment to the School for the project."
