This CD ROM features introductory materials to Newton's Apple, a kit complete with all the ingredients to produce natural handcrafted soap that pupils can safely use, as well as an interactive CD ROM and accompanying web site. The ingredients (coconut, palm and cocoa butter) originate from the West Indies from sustainable and renewable resources. The website links in with other areas of the curriculum, enabling pupils of all ages to use the kit to explore geography, history, science and business studies. Pupils may use the Newton's Apple website to develop their own business plan and start a classroom soap making enterprise, which can be sold at school events. Newton's Apple is therefore designed to be a fully cross-curricular resource.
