As the British Association for the
Advancement of Science (BA) Festival
helps to celebrate the first Science
Year, the BA would like to promote
science with young people by raising
awareness of their roles in our everyday
lives and also to encourage youngsters
to consider careers in science.
Approximately 1,000 young people
aged 15-19 will be attending talks,
lectures and exhibitions in Leicester.
This is an exciting opportunity to
hear about the latest research from
the frontiers of science. These glimpses
of the cutting edge of research are
particularly good at firing up both
students and their teachers about
science. There are also Backchat events
getting young people to engage in
debate with scientists.
But even if you do not attend you
can still take part. Events will be
webcast, discussions will be posted
on the Internet and everyday there
will be press releases about festival
events and the science behind them.
Look at the website to see what makes
tomorrow's news.
