PhotoJam is a freely available piece of software that allows you to produce presentations with an edge. This resource provides pupils with all the images they need to make their own revision package on sound, together with guidance on how you might use this package to make revision time for any topic more worthwhile.

With Music, pupils can really enjoy the process of revision. Here they make a dramatic multimedia presentation to 'teach' a part of the topic of sound to the class. Pupils write lyrics in the style of a rap to communicate the science ideas. Accompanying the rap will be an up-beat sound and image presentation, easily put together using the free trial software supplied. Called PhotoJam, it offers a range of exciting presentation styles, including 'music video', to appeal to all types of pupils. Combining words, music and rhythm and images is a particularly memorable way to learn, and the activity can be adapted to revise any topic.

  • Pupil sheets, with instructions, science ideas to present and images print out
  • Teacher notes
  • PhotoJam software, plus 100 music backing tracks
  • A gallery of images to select from
  • Pre-made PhotoJam for the 'one computer' version of the activity

Music is an activity to:

  • Revise and reinforce all the concepts in the topic of sound
  • Develop communication, ICT and literacy skills

You will need to install PhotoJam on all the computers that you wish to use this resource on. Backing tracks and images can then be installed separately from this CD ROM. Full instructions for this process are given in the teacher notes.
