A stimulus for younger pupils to investigate
bread and make their own.

- The rationale behind choosing and using photographs
as a stimulus for learning.
- How photographs can help you teach science.
- A photograph, 'Baking Bread', taken in San
Juan de Lurigancho, not far from Lima, Peru, with
brief background notes.
- One unit from the resource pack with teacher's notes
and children's activity sheets.

To get the most from this activity teachers will need
to print out the photograph, preferably in colour. If
you do not have access to a colour printer the activity
is just as possible with a black and white print. You
may want to print out the activity sheets and then photocopy
enough for each child, or group of children. This activity
involves looking at bread and there is the option to
make toast or chapattis.
